This single leg elevator is made from a soft and flexible, hypoallergenic, polyurethane foam. The foam product has been specifically developed to have very fast recovery characteristics from its compressed storage state. The foam combination of different chemicals has allowed this product to ensure comfort and longevity, and has been individually cut using the CNC programmed laser cut method. This foam product is one that has a ‘spring’ to it, but is still soft. It is designed and moulded into a specific shape to aid support and elevation to a limb intra operatively. The Surgical Obtuse Angle – Lower Extremity in the shape of a wedge, serves as a lower extremity holder.

The foam product is covered with a very light anti-static and soft, but durable, skin-friendly fabric, which is completely airtight and waterproof. A pressure vacuum valve is inserted into the product to create a vacuum and compress the product. This makes the product compact, lightweight and easy to travel with. It can be stored in a small space.

This product can sustain the rubber cycle autoclave procedure, which is ideal for multiple client use. This high quality medical device is environmentally friendly, controls cross infection and makes it easy to perform the surgical procedure.

  • Prevention of swelling
  • Assists in normal blood circulation
  • Fits nicely in bed
  • Gives more leg stability when inserting a tibial nail
  • Lightweight
  • Limb supported under popliteal fossa provides a maximally flexed knee for procedure
This is a specialised product, which has been scientifically designed as a lower extremity holder for use in theatre. It supports the upper thigh to mid-calf during long procedures. Use with patient in supine position. The Surgical Obtuse Angle – Lower Extremity is designed to elevate one leg at a time or both legs in a comfortable and stable position during surgery or patient preparation. After surgical approach to the anterior knee for nail entry, the wedge is then positioned with apex up under popliteal fossa of maximally flexed knee for procedure.

The product can be used for the following conditions:
  • Tibial Nailing
  • Retrograde Femoral Nailing
  • Supports upper thigh and mid-calf during long procedures
  • Wound Dressing
